Manathakkali(Ari Thakkali) plant is a small plant that grows to about 3 feet and it can be commonly found all over India and Africa. The leaves are alternate dark green, long and elongated. Hanging from the leaf axil, the flowers are found in clusters. This is dried in the sun and used as a fryum and accompanied with the south indian meals at many houses in kerala. This is having lot of medicinal qualities also.
